COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in Yurok Country

COVID-19 is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It's caused by a virus called coronavirus.

The Yurok Tribe OES is working rapidly to keep our reservation healthy.

On March 13th, Chairman of the Yurok Tribe declared a State of Emergency, due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.

This action has been taken only as a precautionary measure to protect our community, our membership, and the most vulnerable population among us. Although there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in either Del Norte or Humboldt Counties at this time, the Yurok Tribal Council is taking this potential risk very seriously, and taking specific and proactive measures in the best interests of the health and safety of our tribal and community members, as well as our employees.

Latest Numbers

As of March 19, 2020 at 6 p.m. PST, there are ZERO known cases on the Yurok Reservation. Humboldt County has zero cases, and Del Norte County is reporting zero.

There are 675 positive cases and 16 deaths in California. Governor Newsom declared a State of Emergency on March 4th, 2020. See the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for the latest data.
